Artist statement:

After spending time in oaxaca, Linda Rand began making her clay marionettes incorporating found materials like shells, wedding chiffon, and vintage string.  Every time she completes one of her colorful characters she is reminded of the sunny cobblestone streets and mexican artesanias of that rich culture.
